Hi

Trying to get some direct flights to Sofia, Bulgaria from the UK.
Anyone know of any other airline, apart from BA, that go there direct?

(The dates that I want, for the numbers going, BA are full)

I would think someone like Crystal Ski uses a charter airline so you *may* find a charter deal. EXpedia doesn't suggest anything, tried opodo? Lastminute.com gives a couple charter matches...Monarch and A.N.Other

Yes, tried opodo, no direct flights. As a side note, I have always found opodo to be expensive. If you compare opodo to say ba's web site! (strange considering, BA are joint owners of opodo)

I will have a look at lastminute.com though.

I've flown into both Sofia, and Plovdiv.
When I went it was "Balkan Airlines".

Plovdiv was incredible: baggage was brought in by two old men with a hand cart. The entry point for customs had 45 degree mirrors above it to stop folk sneaking in (out?), and the exit from the airport had a huge sign, about two storeys high with a Russian soldier in full battledress, and the message: CCCP is watching YOU! The aircraft was guarded after landing by soldiers, and no photo's were allowed.
Scary or what!
