Just started looking for a new house and thought I would get an agreement in principal from our existing provider (Nationwide). We have been with them for 3 years and never missed a payment but recently I have missed paying a couple of minimum payments(£6-£12) on my C/card, because of this they have refused me a mortgage! I'm now in the process of closing all accounts with them and telling them to go jump but my wife would really like to move so does anyone have any ideas of a provider that would take a "risk" on me?? Any help greatly appreciated.

I would be very worried if a mortgage lender would refuse a mortgage because of a few missed CC payments, afterall the 'loan' is secured on the property so provided you have good equity it shouldnt be a problem. I'll email you a good mortgage brokers contact details - he'll get you a mortgage no worries.

Abbey will look at the reasons behind a poor credit score. Nationwide offer the lowest svr, but tend to look for 'perfect' scores. IE - No missed payments in last 3 years on anything
