Unhappy

I used to suffer really badly from these as a child; I still get them now from time to time. It scares the hell out of the wife when I start yelling in the middle of the night (and worse).
Now my little girl (18 months) seems to be having them several times a night and wakes up screaming
I'd hate for her to have to go through what I went through, so is there anything that can be done? Any foods to avoid?
As I understand it they still don't know what causes them.
Cheers

Question

Eating cheese (or something difficult to digest) late at night? Or is that an urban myth?

Talking

Thanks Jason, a useful website that one. Not sure what can be scaring her, she watches Teletubbies before bedtime
She has been a bit under the weather though, so that could be it.
Cheers
