Exclamation

To cut a long story short, I have about to get my class one license as soon as possible.

Here is what I know, correct me if I'm wrong...

- Before i do anything i have to take a medical at the docs.

- Do I then apply for my class 2 provisional ?

- I have to take my class 2 test and pass

- Do I then apply for my class 1 provisional ?

- I can then take my class 1 test

One myth that I've heard is you have to have held a class 2 license for at least 12 months before you can apply for a class 1

Will I be able to pass my test in 3 weeks assuming everything goes ok ? Is it possible to take intensive courses ?

Many thanks for help

Matt

Dont do it

Not sure about the 12 month thing but yes you can do intensive courses. Theory test first. You have a asessment(sp?) with a driving school they say how much you need then you book up and go for it.
3 4 5 day courses that sort of thing.

When I took my class1 15 years ago all I done was a 4 day course and had the test at the end of it that was it all we had was a few safety questions on coupling and uncopuling and general road questions and that was that cost me shed loads then

15 years ago that make me feel sooooooooo old ahh I remember the latest state of the art Ford Cargo Tractor unit with the ISRI seat that use to make me feel like Zebedee Boing

Good luck if you take it

Once youve passed your category C ( new name for classes 2+3 ) and had your license returned from the DVLA you can go straight for your C+E (class one).

Courses vary in length dependant upon the individuals skill.

Get your provisional license sorted then contact a training school. They should be able to sort you out with a theory test booking and then get you on a course!

Enjoy.

Thanks for the replies Will go to the post office tommorrow and get the relevant documents I need, and get booked in for a medical.

Bob,

Don't think there's been much progress on the insurance front (he still hasn't been paid out ) I'll let you know if there's any progress.
