Bloody hell

I have to go to the States next week on a business trip. The plan *was* to go to San Diego for 2 days then up to San Francisco for the rest of the week. Sounds fine.

But now... it's all changed San Diego customer is off but they want ne to go to bloody Vancouver instead *and then* back to SF. Trouble is the flight to SD is booked and can't be changed meaning that I have to fly to SD than fly on to Vancouver. Jeez

So my question is... does anyone know how long it takes to fly from SD to Vancouver? Should I demand an overnight hotel before continuing?

No, this is looking like a serious marathon

Any seasoned air travellers out there? On the trip out I have to change flights at Houston. How feasible would it be to catch a flight from there to Vancouver and not complete the scheduled journey?

Ok here's what I think you'll have to do.

If you are going to end up in San Diego and that can't be changed you'll need a flight from San Diego to San Francisco and then another from San Francisco to Vancouver as I don't think anything goes direct to Vancouver from SD if I remember correctly.

I reckon that you're looking at a flight time of around 5 hours although a lot depends on the stopover in SF.

Best thing is to go to the http://www.expedia.com - note the com and not the UK as you are flying internally in the US and put in SD to SF and see what it gives you flight time and journey time wise. May also give you some alternative routes.

Hope this helps,

tiggers.

Sorry didn't see your other post. Yeah Houston would be a better bet - you'll still have to change (at Dallas) - try American Airlines as the others make you change twice and I don't think you want four flights if you can avoid it.

Regards,

tiggers.

Fly direct to Seattle and then hire a car, its 2 hours drive north to Vancouver. Flights are relatively cheap to Seattle, BA fly direct from Heathrow.

sounds like a laugh to me. The Pacific Northwest is a lovely place, just go and enjoy it and stop being so negative.

Yea, it'll get me out of the house. I'll enjoy it once I get going. It's just that the trip has changed shape sooo much at the last minute. I was looking forward to San Diego too...

Ah well, where's those beers....
