New York Hotel Recommendations please
#1
Off to New York in November for a week. There are 6 or maybe 8 of us going. So probably looking at apartment type places in Manhatten for 5 days and a couple of days somewhere posh.
Can't really wait for something to appear on laterooms.com as there are so many of us going.
Any recommendations appreciated

This apartment style hotel is highly recommended...........

and for the ultimate in posh........
The Plaza
or
The Four Seasons
I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria about six months ago, it was nice but it does need a refurbishment in some areas, and in some ways it is trading on its name.

Without sounding all braggy I've had the good fortune to stay at most of the top hotels in NY.
I'd recommend that you don't bother with The Plaza - IMHO it's a victim of its own success and doesn't offer anywhere near the level of performance that you'd expect of a hotel that charges that they do...You do get a pc and high speed internet access in your room though
The Waldorf is starting to get a bit tatty.
My recommendation would be The Peninsula (http://fasttrack.newyork.peninsula.com/). A bit expensive but an excellent hotel. While we were the in February Ozzy Osbourne and all of his clan were there along with a couple of MTV crews. I also had the pleasure of meeting Lucy Lui

Thanks for the replies so far - any more good apartments? I can find a posh ones on the net once I get there, but really need something under $200 per room for the first few days for my non-contractor mates

The Warick Hotel is nice place and it's a cheaper than the Waldorf and Plaza
It's on 65 West 54th Street - which is not far from central park (5mins) and Broadway
The Beetles stopped there whenever they were in NY too
FFS can't even spell beetles now!

The Raddison does some good deals and is convenient.
I have stayed in the New York Palace a few times - one of the best but at around $390-$400 per nigh it's getting a bit silly.
The Metropolitan is also cheap but needs a refurb at the moment - a bit tatty..

Aha I found the website for you - that save you trawling through all the usual BS sites trying to sell you rooms.
http://www.warwickhotelny.com/
rooms are between $240 to $480 per night depending on what room you want
