More details required re history of the condition, how severe it is, level of pain, age of patient. Mail me more info and I will check with a consultant I know.

Thumbs down

My brother had chronic knee problems and ended up getting an operation privately. basically the NHS would not admit there was anything wrong, and once he had seen a specialist privately, the waiting time for the operation on the NHS was several years

It seems that the NHS will now only deal with acute conditions.

I'm also waiting for an appointment to have a knee op. It took 4 weeks from me seeing the doctor to actually recieving a letter from the hospital, and that letter said the waiting time was at least 21 weeks.

Scooby 96 YHM.

It took 4/5 weeks for me to get appointment also, could't believe the Nov 04 hosp. date ,had to double check!
I know there are peeps who genuinly need seen to before me , well for now anyway my knee is starting to affect me constantly. GP reckons ligament damage and told me to take pain killers for the next 13/14 months....no thanks ,i've been paying my dues for the last 20 years ,never been a drain on the system, and want seeing to now!!!!!!! (should make myself homeless and put on an east european accent, might get attention then eh).
