My parents live very near there. Where abouts is the house. DO NOT move anywhere near Stanhope, Beaver Lane . If its on one of the new developments near the Tescos superstore then it should be fine although that is still quite near Stanhope which is currently being used to house 100's if not 1000's of asylum seekers.
A drive through the area at different times of the day / evening / night should give you a good feel for it.
So are you moving on your own or with W69?

What else do you want to know? I come from near there. Lot's of nice villages around east kent. Ashford will have the fast rail links when it's all completed. Canterbury is a far nicer town to go out in although traffic there is crap nowadays. Ashford doesn't have much culture/character or 'nice' stuff but it's got all you need (i.e. supermarket, ring road car dealers, multiplex cinema/nightclub/eateries thingy, clothes outlet centre) although this stuff is dotted around the outside of the town.
Apparently they built all these new housing estates(nr tescos) but forgot things like schools Nothing like town planners eh!
M20 is ususally OK and you can make good progress (only gets a little busy in summer just after a shuttle has shed its' load but after a few miles it eases up well)

Cheers Drac. Had a good look round and couldnt find any 'nasty' areas near where we were looking last night. I know there is a school behind the house or one will be built as apparently the playing field will be behind ours when its done. Id prefer that than to another house over looking it so thats fine with me.
Yeah M20 took me the same time to get from Ashford to M25 as it did from my flat in TWells so that was very handy
Oh and its only 2 mins from Sainsburys so not far to go for my beer supply
Oh and I reckon when the rail link is complete house prices will shoot up because it will be as quick to get to London as from Tunbridge Wells. Thats what I hope anyway.

Ashford? In Derbyshire I hope, not in the soft south:
Seriously: get y'self up ere, enjoy some real scenery, and pay about half what you would down there for the same house.
Alcazar
PS: if more folk thought like that, we wouldn't have the north-south divide Tony the taxer says we haven't got:

Mate's GF lives there, I'm about 20 miles away. Its a nice place but getting bigger and busier by the day due to the new International Rail station. Getting more popluated by businees folk who can easily commute to Paris and Brussels on the Eurostar.

Hi mate, its up at Kennington built on the back of the old barracks. Really nice estate, all 3,4 and 5 bed houses by the looks of it. Its going to be expanded lots so need to check plans etc. Had a look at the estates down by Tescos last weekend, really liked Park Farm but Orchard Heights is right next to the M20 so nice and easy for me to bomb upto the M25 andf into London for work
Yep its for me, my son and W69 Had enough of stupid prices in Tunbridge Wells and need somewhere more spacious and less expensive to live.
