Stop Being a Mug - fight back fuel tax extortion
#1
It's time to kick up a fuss guys as fuel tax has surely reached saturation levels and is the highest levied in the world for us poor British mugs. This is particularly valid in view of the recent hikes in National Insurance and the outrageous rises in Council Tax. This, coupled to the arrogant and manipulative way Labour rule and patronise us the hard working and overtaxed minions, means it is time to join the next fuel blockades... Remember, out of your working year all the cash you make till July 19th goes to the government - no one minds a reasonable tax burden in a fair society, but...
To receive stickers for the car objecting to the continued tax increases, send an A4 sized stamped & self-addressed envelope to:
Sticky Dickys, Long Acre, Hinckley Rd. Wolvey, Leics. LE10 3HQ
Further hikes in haulage costs will of course be passed on to everything we buy (and a nice consequential bonus increase in VAT too)

More info on how we are being ripped off and the plans to rip us off further - its in Labours manifesto after all...

Why will fuel blockades ever work? Eventually, as per last time, people HAVE to get back on the move again. Why will it be any different this time?
Why not register your disapproval via the ballot box at the next election??

Granted a fuel blockade wouldnt be as effective as slashing the chancellors brake lines - but then I've always been a moderate
It's just about doing SOMETHING mate - doing NOTHING achieves even less...
D
PS I'd register to vote, but have a privacy issue with it. I'd be happy to vote using my passport as ID - not some 'anyone can look it up and we can also put you in prison if you dont you minion' register reminiscent more of draconian dog licence days...

So are you telling us you think we should protest about the government when you chose to take no part in the democratic process that elected it? That's the one way you can have a direct effect on the very thing you are protesting about.
That's weird logic for you!
tiggers.

A fuel protest should take the form of everyone who drives to STOP driving for a day and take public transport on that day instead.
The public transport system would then collapse and then everyone will be affected and it will also highlight how crap and inadequate the public transport system is.

I dont enjoy the irony Tiggers I'm just sick of everyone trying to stick a Tracker on my ****...
I crave anonymity as you then have more flexibility should you screw up/do something slightly not preffered by your government etc...
I know it s a pathetic rebeliousness on my part, but should I give a false name whilst burning down a tax office - I have more chance to get away with it. GOD! I'm even laughing at myself now

I agree with Diesel on this, especially the voting thing. I am not on the electoral register purely because it gives all your details to 192.com for people to look you up. I am ex directory and I dont want my details put on a ******* website thanks very much you useless feking government. Invasion of privacy and breach of the data protection act if ever there was one!
Its a joke the way the whole thing about the electoral register works, it should be just for elections, not for diplaying your contact details to anyone on the web and to also penalise you for credit if you are not on it, not that I have had this problem up till now but apparently it will go against me on mortgage applications. Complete joke that is, I am gonna be penalised on credit just because I dont want to be on 192.com ffs
I'd move abroad cos I hate the way this country is run and its cr@p out of date laws but can't because guess what, the law is on the side of my looney ex wife who has sole custody of my son and I dont stand a chance in hell of getting him to live with me just because the law says children always stay with the mother (not technically true but god damn as near the truth). So i have two choices, stay in this **** country and see my son twice a month (thanks very much judge you complete out of touch w@nker) and live under the worst set of laws and taxation and public services in the Western World, or move abroad and never see my son Not much of a choice I have there really then
A lot more than a fuel blockage needs to be organised to take on this so called Government, they don't take any notice of the public and do what they feking please and get away with it!

If you do your sums, this news isn't as bad as it looks. Using the Department of Transport's statistics:
The average annual mileage of a four-wheeled car was 9,200 miles between 1999 and 2001
The average fuel consumption was 32 miles per gallon
Therefore, the average motorist uses roughly 288 gallons of fuel per year
Hence, the increased fuel tax will cost a typical motorist another 288 x 0.058 = £16.70 a year.
Is this worth a public protest? As it happens, several leading fuel retailers have agreed to absorb the extra tax, so many motorists will see no increase in pump prices.
Anyway, it's always a good idea to shop around for your fuel when you're filling up. I suggest signing up with the brilliant AAPetrolBusters, which allows you to find the cheapest fuel in any area of the UK - and it's free! Saving 3p a litre every week means an annual saving of almost £40 for a typical motorist...
Then you can stop moaning and start VOTING!!

Can I use my Shell PlusPoints card as proof that I exist and so can get a vote? The amount of points I have on this card after all is greater than the GNP of smaller non arms making countries

The Brits are not really very good or keen on protesting unless it is a last resort type thing unlike our French cousins who will at the drop of a hat.
Mass public disorder did scare the government inot action last time and will likely do so again. They do not like it, it makes them look bad and also makes them relise that the voters are not all a bunch of sheep to be led around as and when they like.
I for one will take part and lobby parliment. It is about time Blair and the rest of the Muppet show cabinate took notice of us voters instead of their lacky 'yes' men and women.
Before someone tries to tell me they (Labour) have to raise money somehow then don't bother. They should spend what they have wisely in the first place.

Your post contradicts itself:
One typical motorist - "typical motorist another 288 x 0.058 = £16.70 a year"
The other typical motorist - "Saving 3p a litre every week means an annual saving of almost £40 for a typical motorist".
That's the trouble all along with Labour, too much "Spin"!

Diesel,
You've got a Shell Points card. Are you mad?
Don't you know that they've an embedded chip that knows where you are at any given time and votes for you on polling day via your thought patterns? It also posts your details to 192.com and many other websites that you don;t even know about yet!
They know who you are?
There's no escape!!!

It's about time the masses started rebelling. I'm fed up with taxpayers money being wasted and poured down the drain. Whilst simulatneously being asked, ahem sorry..forced to pay more!

Seems to me like theres too many fuel protest websites.
Why doesnt some bright spark decide which site is best and re-direct all the other sites to that one. Keeping everyone in one place rather than 15/20 different places.
Just a thought
PS. Im not a bright spark so it will have to be one of you
