IMHO this is one of the best albums of the 90's and an essential part of any music lovers collection.

Saw it yesterday in Virgin for £2.99 !!!!!

Cheers

Thumbs up

Agreed. Where it came from after the uninspiring Northern Soul is anyone's guess.

Agreed it is quite depressing, but as Telboy points out its not half as bad as Northern Soul that is tough going!!

Anyway I much prefer lyrics that have been written based on personal experiances, depressing or not they give the song character meaning and life rather than some namby pamby "I hope I fall in love with that beautiful girl/boy" bull5hit which is mass manufactured these days (SIAL)

You could buy the Verve CD for £2.99 which is an absolute bargain for a truly classic album or you could spend £4.99 on the cheeky girls CD single, it makes fiscal and aural sense to me

I was in hospital for a week or so when this album was around. Hospital Radio actually played The Drugs Don't Work - luckily I wasn't too ill to miss the funny side

Top album.

Not the best of the 90s IMO that goes to The Bends or Definitely Maybe.

Hello

Listening to it now and it's great.

Although when it first came out, I'm SURE the words were "The trucks don't work" and I wondered what on earth they were on about.......

Steve.
