Wait a minute!
Surely if a SN user (albeit switching ID's) is making a habit of making himself unpopular - shouldn't the "community" know about it?
How would you feel if you were ripped off?
The money is not a big deal - It is the priciple!

Bah, I can't find the threads and user names I need.
Wait until I get home and I'll reveal a bit more....unless payment has been made, or legal proceedings have started against me.

Davy.
1. Are you the person who was allegedly ripped off? If no then surely it's between them and the person who they contracted to do the work?
If yes, then we respectfully ask you to resolve it in private.
2. I understand that you feel as though the community should know, and I do believe that people have a right to mention where they got bad service from. HOWEVER, I believe they should only do that once the matter has been resolved one way or the other.
Why do I say that?
Because It's entirely possible that whatever you write here could wreck the persons attempt to resolve the situation to their satisfaction. As good and well meaning as your intentions are, it could backfire on you, Scoobynet and the other person.
3. With all due respect, why have you opened up another thread on this same subject. Did you think we'd think 'oh dear we'd better not lock that one' and leave this alone
4. If you think it's a scoobynet matter Why not report the suspected user by email to the webmaster?
5. What do you really think the outcome would be if you named and shamed this user. Let me tell you what will happen.
Repeat..
...Some people will say 'stone him'
...The user's mates will rally round thus creating a flame war
...The user in question will post and explain their side of the story
Until Thread locked/deleted.
Does that really help Scoobynet? Not really.
Much better to resolve it in private and then post the results. That way everyone wins.

You're right of course, I'll just put it down to the unique "community spirit" I have experienced from being a scoobynet member
So far my Partner and I have "experienced"
a) A police visit due to the nature of a thread - can you believe that!
b) Unwanted text messages
c) Threats of voilence
and now,
d) Getting shafted for work done
All due to members of Scoobynet, quality, thanks guys
Dave - I'm not bitter

To be fair to Simon its hardly his fault.
In a community as big as this you are always likely to get people who for whatever reason don't get on.

Not so good, m8. I know how you feel: I'm sure this is down to people being "brave" behind a user name
I've recently had a very non-contentious letter printed in our local rag. This morning I recieved a letter slagging me off for bothering about things that the letter writer didn't find important, and taking the ****, and being rude about my family name
Anonymous of course.:
I've chucked it.
I suggest you put it down to experience mate. Deal with it as requested. There are certainly some "big" people out there , behind their computers.
Mods: this is NOT a dig at you:

Does that really help Scoobynet? Not really
If it is then surely pointing out that one of it's members has been if not dishonest then at least discourtious is helping scoobynet?
Obviously if Scoobynet is not a sum of all the members then no it doesn't really help.

Well I must say that I have had mainly helpful experiences with SN. At the beginning of this thread I thought the non-payer in question might be me, cos i did have some work done via a request in Computer Related, and I haven't paid for it, although not because I don't want to, just cos I am waiting for the person in question to bill me.
Other than that, i have bought a bought and sold various things with the minimum of bother.

Got to a difficult one....
1. If the "offender" reccons there is some sort of problem with the service goods etc.. then they should be given the chance to get it sorted.
2. If its a case of they just want something for free then as long as you can back it up then you should tell which member has done it....
I did it about 2 years ago... Did a group buy using my money and got done by one member (Simon ZZR) It was less than £27.00 if I remember but I felt it was not part of the Scoobynet spirit thing...
