Trying to get insurance for a two week holiday for my grandad and the cheapest quote I am getting is £1100!!!!!!!! He has an Aneurysm which seems to be the reason for the huge price, but does anybody know any specialist companies etc that could possibly help. Thanks greatly for your time and any assistance you can provide.

where are you going ? If its EU country then just get down the Post office and get an EC300(something like that) which entitles you to free emergency healthcare in the EC.

Edited to say: with something like an aneurysm I'm suprised you got a quote at all - a very unpredictable condition. They could open a Lloyds Platinum account as that gives them free annual travel insurance although check first it covers the over 80's - if it does and your grandad isnt travelling against medical advice then he should be covered.

Saga (as mentioned above).

If hes going to the USA or Canada / Carribean then expect the premiums to be sky high!

Whatever travel insurance you get it will not provide cover for an existing medical condition.

Not necessarily the case 'babe'

Provided its not against medical advice and is declared and the underwriters accept the risk then its possible. However I doubt if an aneurysm would be deemed an acceptable risk for any insurer.

Exclamation

Doctor has written it is not a threat, he's 72 and trying to get to florida!! Think the problem is it will need operated on but doctor says that could be 10 years or more.
Sorry forgot to add it never bleed which supposedly makes a difference (i don't know much about these things!)
