As I dont do and never have done the lottery I see myself as a winner as I dont waste my money each week buying a ticket which gives me virtually no cnance of winning the big prize.
If I take the fact that the average UK family spends £5/week on the lottery and its been running for 9 years then I have saved myself £2340. Not bad for doing nothing.
Chip.

And Gordon Brown has had about £600million as well.
Funny how the poor actually spend the most on it.They must be the dullest as well.

Or the most desperate.
I saw a programme a couple of years back where this single mother with 2 or 3 kids spent £50 of her £80 per week for food, etc. on scratch cards.
The rest went on **** and cheap cider from what I saw.

I can well afford £4 a week for two lines on weds & sat. If that gives me a chance to win enough money to never work again then thats cool by me. Won a tenner last night so thats 2.5 weeks for free

well I think the lottery is fantastic!
The Deep, an massive aquarium in Hull, was funded by lottery money. I'm glad of that.
I've never done the lottery but all the poor people in Hull and around the country do it all the time..
Pity they can't actually afford the price of a family ticket to go in and see what they paid for, but then again I don't want my child mixing with "their sort" so I'll just let them stand about outside, feeling a warm glow that their hard "earned" dole money did some good and gave us something to do on a Sunday morning
Stupid Tax is indeed correct...

Hello
It depends what you mean by "stupid". Most peoples lives will not be blessed with any (good!) monetary life changing events.
You may luck out and work for a company who gives you shares that do extremely well, you may get promoted to be the boss of a large multi-national that "pays you off" to leave. But besides that, no hope.
So what is wrong with trying your luck? I think that probability is 1/14,000,000? But it's better than nothing....
Steve.
