Went in one from Shugborough Hall a few years ago. Would recommend this outfit based on that one time. No problems getting a flight - I have also heard of others trying for a year and not getting to go, then being told their £300 of vouchers had expired!

Can't remember the name but a quick search of the web has revealed this which looks like the place. Clicky link

There is a place near me that has a balloon (a ladybird!!) but not sure whether they do trips out in it but it's worth asking I guess. It's in a place called Awsworth in Notts and the company is Bridges Van Hire! No i've not gone mad!! When I moved house, I hired a van from them and there were pics of the balloon all over and leaflets about it. The number is 0115 932 3232.

I know you asked for midlands based, but the link below is to a top notch bloke I know personally. I have flown with him in the UK and Austria.

Capricorn Balloons, Woodhouse Eaves, Leics.

Dated one of the family a few years ago and did a couple of flights. They are really nice people. Weather is of course a MAJOR factor in whether to fly or not but you would be suprised what weather they do go up in!! Extreem Ballooning anyone!!!

Give them a go. They usually launch from Abbey Park in Leicester.

Paul,

Haven't you noticed the balloons flying most late afternoons south and west of Northants town centre?

Might be worth finding out who they are. I think the usual charge is £150 per person, most companies cram people into balloons.

They also make a very good profit (which is how they can take their fairly new Ferrari's to track days)
