I just read your other post
A traffic car (which I assume this would be) could have 1 or 2 officers in. The speed detection is normally done using VASCAR time / distance equipment. If video equipment were in use the VASCAR may be linked to this. Either way the device acts as corroboration to the officer, so in short you CAN be done for speeding by an officer on his own.

If the cop car has 1 officer in and no camera, VASCAR etc then it would be very hard for them to prove you were speeding - a good lawyer would get you off no problem!

Totally off topic, Ive just seen a uniformed copper washing his stickered up panda car in the hand jet wash, very strange.
