Has passed away in hospital. He was 71, and one of the finest country singers ever.
Good that he died with his boots on. The last albums have all been magnificent, and well worth tracking down. "The Man Comes Around" on American IV was just heartbreaking and beats everything else on the album. And that was recoded when he was 69 or 70.
