It's better than the inescapable heat we had a month ago. At least now you can wrap up, take brolly etc. In the heat, there's nothing you can do. Far nicer now, although the best is mild and sunny autumn rather than wet and murky.

I do a lot of going out during the darker months. I guess it's cause you can't do a lot else.
I don't mind the dark months, as long as it's not windy & wet every day...

Me too. And all this crap about solving SAD by getting a lightbox, because you're not getting enough UV or something
It's got f-all to do with the UV -- it's the fact that I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, and the nice bits of the day (relatively speaking) pass by the office window

I thought I hate dark nights coz I come from sunny place. But in GB,so many people suffer from SAD.I'm not on my own in this.I do change the lightbulbs to 100W from 60W in winter. This makes me feel a bit better. But it's only the September which is horrendous.Later after that,I kind of get used to it.Got no choise anyway! No wonder we need Christmas, full of lights, for uplift from this downer Nature causes!

Just to cheer you lot up, you think you have it bad then.
I am working in the Faroe Islands at the moment and it's
1) Cold and ****ty rainy weather most days.
2) Daylight, what's that.
3) Bugger all to do and the only telly in the Hotel is BBC World.
4) Only 3 outlets on the Island that are licensed to sell alcohol.
5) 1 pub within 15 mins drive.
6) When you get to pub it costs a FIVER a pint
7) Been here 3 weeks and have and 3 to go.
8) But the worst of all this is that they have fantastic emtpy twisty roads, Monte WRC type stuff, perfect for scoobs, and I'm driving a peugeot 406.
Now the beer at a fiver I can handle but the empty twisty roads and no scooby is driving me mad
I have seen one lucky bugger with a silver classic driving around, the luckiest man in the Foroes
Hope that cheers you up

It could be worse - I used to work for a company who specialise in military software development. It was a "secure site" but even so, all the blinds were drawn all the time. Just imagine, in winter, you get up in the dark, drive to work in the dark, spend your whole day indoors with absolutely no natural light, leave the office in the dark and drive home in the dark.
I stood it for 3 years - it nearly did my head in by the end!

Come to Florida?
Even in the winter, its light here from about 0730 to 1700. Plus its ususually fairly warm, no snow and the pound goes fairly far due to your favorable conversion rates.
Also, visit the Carribean, Hawaii, or someplace warm you've never been before.

Beautiful day in Surrey today
Try working in computers rooms all day - now thats depressing!
Fortunately I have a window seat now and not many reasons to go into a computer room!
