With BT they have a nuisance calls department which has been in place for years. I would presume that all of the mobile operators would have the same.
I think it would be the only option that you have to find out the number.

One of the women from your extra-curricular activities is after you!!
As above I would suggest calling your mobile operator. BT are bliss to deal with in comparision though. Mobile operators do not appear to nuisance call departments in place.

I'm a slow typer (Japanese keyboard!), you have the phone number then?
Why don't you get someone to ring it and say they have won a prize if they can correctly identify their postcode? This will give you the address down to 10 houses or so.

96, all you need is someone with the InfoDisc Pro. My old man has it, but unfortunately he's not in the country at the moment. Possibly put a thread in Computer Related - there must be someone on here who has access to this.

Tried Google - no luck.
Whenever I ring the landline its never ever answered.
Tried yell.com as I'm pretty sure hes a carpenter and I know the suburb of the town there living in but nothing!

Scooby96 are you in the UK?
If so, when you ring them, put 141 in front of the number, they might not put the phone down then. (As your telephone number will not show on their phone).

I have the Uk Info disc 2003 and i was under the impression that it could find an address and phone number for a given name but couldnt do the reverse.. i.e find a name from a number

There is an old "illegal" version of InfoDisk that allows reverse number lookup. It's pretty useless these days, as the numbers are from at least 6 years ago.
I am always amazed that no-one has produced a hack to allow reverse number lookups. If anyone can correct me on that (and send me that hack) please do...

What you need are copies of BT "Gold disc's"
Ive seen these and the system using them... And I believe there are copies been sold for up to £2k a set... They hold EVERY numbere that works listed or not and you can search in any way you want . Swindon is a good place to buy them!!!

Net Detective 8.0 appears to offer reverse number look up - anyone know? As its only $29 I might buy a copy unless someone has it already and would be kind enough to do the search for me?

InfoDisc Pro allows you to do any variation, ie number from address, address from number and so on. It's updated every year, but it's quite expensive, so most people only bother with the non-Pro version.
But of all the Scoobynet members, i'd be amazed if *no-one* has it.

Someone was doing this to my girlfriend a while back.... they were just phoning and not saying anything until she hung up. Scared her big time.
One day they forgot to withhold their number.
Needless to say, I phoned it immediately, person picked up the phone but didn't say anything (must have been suspicious cos of withheld number) and I could hear the TV in the background. They'd listen for a minute or so to me going 'hello hello??' and then hang up.
Then came the stroke of genius..
I have a fax machine at work, which doesn't get used very often, I set it to dial their number with an auto-redial every 30 seconds if it didn't get a fax tone, After about 45 mins of constant barrage of fax machine phoning them, I could hear a mans voice screaming 'F@CK OFF' at the machine.
So I phoned back, they picked up and did the usual not saying anything stuff, I calmly and slowly told them that now I had their phone number, I would be finding out where they lived, pretending I had a mate who worked in the mobile phone industry who could do a simple look-up. then I proceeded to tell them what I was going to do to them in detail.
She didn't recieve any more crank calls!
