Question

I was bidding on some US Formula 1 Grand Prix tickets.

I was the highest bidder however I did not meet the reserve price so the auction was not completed. Since the auction ended I have emailled the seller in the USA and we have agreed a price.

He wants to be paid by a Money order however all of the money order internet sites (bidpay, paypal, payfast) seem to rely on a successeful auction.

Does anybody have any ideas how I can get it sorted ?

You can pay by paypal direct to his email address. No need to have won the item.

I've done this several times in the past.

Although you can pay by PayPal direct to their email address it's no use if they are insisting on a money order. They could relist the tickets with you as the only pre-approved bidder then you can use one of the services you've already mentioned. Payingfast doesn't have to be an auction but has a limit of $75 if not.

Of course doing it this way they would have to pay the eBay fees so might want a bit more

The seller wants a money order, I said IF they are insisting on that then PayPal is no use at all.
