Plasma TV's

Phil, check out AV Forums for advice. Most reckon LCD is the way to go, but the ones to leave plasma dead in the water are a few months away. Pannys and Pioneer seem quite well respected, the new 42" from JVC gets the top marks in this months What Hi-Fi. The ones at around £2k at Richers are not brilliant. Better budgeting a little more if you want the best.
Have a look at AV Land, Techtronics, Ivojo, Nexnix.
When you decide on the main contenders, go here, here and here.
I like the look of this LCD one.
Happy shopping.
Edited to add this one. As I said, LCD is the future, for now, until organic LED's get here.

Ok .. so most of you know i've got an ongoing contents claim.. What I had before was a 42" rear projection TV, this time i think i want to go for plasma.. I've seen the odd one or two for around 2.5K which i think is within my budget, it dosnt have to have a tuner because i use sky and dosnt need speakers cos i will use a seperate amp and speakers...
is anyone on here clued up in this sort of thing ??
what do i look for ??
and wheres the best place for a plasma screen ,as said before , if poss without a tv tuner ???

Id try Richer sounds; all of their models were without tuners last time I looked. look at the resolution then look at the picture; its really that simple. I was looking at a smart sub £2k Samsung screen a couple of months ago, which reminds me...

for info on plasmas see:-
www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com
the site is american but 99.9% of the info applies here - it is an excellent site.
consensus of opinion is the the Panasonic PW5 series plasmas are the best but way outside your £2k budget - nearer £4k

I've got a couple, a pioneer and a panasonic - the panasonic is definitely the best one I've seen. most screens dont have scart - you need to use component video for the best picture as far as I can tell
