Its pay day today, for my first (crap) job and they are transfering the numbers to my account. Okay.. I opened the account ages ago when some bankerwoman from the RBOS came into my old school to make as many kis as she could to open an account with them. Anyway, I opened one and all I have is a paying in book with account no. and bank sort code etc, anyway, I want to check that the numbers have been transferred, any idea how I can do this (apart from going to the bank)..

Edited to completely remove the twaddle i originally typed, with the RBOS you can do internet banking, i am with RBOS and i do net banking, you can fill out a form online and they will contact you with regards to passwords and ID's and other security info.

There's a helpline number for those accounts,
Youth & Children accounts 0808 100 3081
More info on here , but I suggest opening a current & savings account at a bank with a branch local to you. Banks screw up, often, and sometimes you need to go face to face to get anywhere with them. Phone & internet banking is only convenient while you don't need to throttle someone.
First wage eh ? Bet you can't wait for tomorrow night.

Phone them, give them your details and explain the circumstances. Then ask them if they can confirm they a payment has been recieved for £xxx from your employer. The only reason they can't tell you is cos of Data Protection act.... not cos they don't want to
