I'm selling my scooby at the moment what the best way to deal with the payment. Taking 10K+ cash seems dodgy, Cheques are people OK with waiting until they clear till they get the car?
I know I might be paranoid but you only hear the horror stories with people loosing their car.
Thanks,
Nick

I'd take the cash at your branch and pay it into your account; alternatively you might want to accompany the buyer to his branch and wait as a draft is drawn.

Cash, everytime without fail.
Too many people have been ripped off with false bankers drafts and its not always conveinent to call the bank to confirm its geniune (ie: out of bank hours).
If you are worried about having that amount of cash on you then get a few mates round.

10k cash????? what the heck do you want that for?
the last few things i have bought and sold (9k up to £25k) have all been done via direct transfer from one bank to another.

ask for a bankers draft.
This is almost guarenteed to be legitimate.

Its dead easy (so Im told) to forge bankers drafts, always do your deal during banking hours and go to your branch and get it checked simple!

Give the seller ur acct details, then check on Internet banking (if ur on it) or call the branch and ask as it will show up more or less straight away, then sort ppwk out afterwards.
