How comes in Clinton, even the simplest card is at least one and a half quid?

Somebody somewhere is laughing very, very hard...

Tel,

Wouldnt mind but I always try and buy 'humourous' cards, eiher my SOH is twisted or their cards are just $hit!!! They are a licence to print money for sure, I use www.moonpig.com great service and you can personalise the cards, not cheap but they seem to have better ones than in the high street shops.

Now you're onto something ID - the whole culture of sending cards. Birthdays, Christmas, Father's Day, Mother's Day, anniversaries, the list goes on.

I don't have any friends or family.

At least that's what BT told me in a letter the other day. I thought that was a bit personal really

AC:

Well, it shows that they are quite perceptive about their customers.

I used to work for one of the largest greeting card manufacturers in Europe and it is a license to print money, The most expensive card on our books which sold for about £10 cost 39.7p to produce.
I always buy the budget cards at Asda for 28-99p. Any more is a waste and I'd rather get them a better pressie. The thing that shocks me though is those gift boxes. £5+ just to wrap it up. Get stuffed. Make no wonder Clintons have a new store in the mall near me that's nearly as big as Debenhams.

Clinton's are opening up big stores all the time.

how the hell do they do it?

I get my cards off the market, not coz im a stinge, but coz they only go in the bin, its the thought that counts, and gives me more to spend on a prezzie of some sort...
