How these civvy speed trap vans work?
#1
I have just been caught speeding by one of these buggers. If it had been plod I would have got away with it (80 in a 70 zone) but these tossers will do you at any speed over 70, with no tolerance. The w***ers have the cheek to send a leaflet with the NIP, which tells you that they are targeting accident blackspots - not where this one was!!! Bast***s.
Anyway, does anyone know how they work - I am thinking of getting a laser jammer, will this work for these new vans, or do they use some sort of vision system which cannot be detected etc...
Anyone know the answer as I have been unable to find any information on this new menace!!
Cheers,
Mike

no such thing as civvy's these days
Now Police Staff or Police Officer, please try and be a little more PC.
Now both of them have targets to meet for the month these days, so If you want to be a statistic for the government go for it.
It is the majority of people that want speed enforcement because it saves lives and the that is reflected in government policy.
Now for the big one, police staff/officers are doing the enforcement on behalf of the government and road safety and that is what the majority of people want, the fact that they make money out of it is incidental to the policy.
And on that subject, don’t think voting Conservative will make thing better it won’t.
I drive at 25MPH through a 30mph limits, until public opinion changes we as stuck with the situation, most people must be getting pizzed of with the hold ups and slow driving through extended villages and towns.
Protest Join the 25mph club NOW !!!!!!!!
I have not seen a speed camera on a quit twisty country B road or roundabouts so these are good places to Nail it.
Oh and another little tip, tail gate on motorways, they can’t laser zap you through the vehicle in front or read your index plate

just put fake number plates on your car.
swap 2 digits round... oops honest mistake sorry officer... IF you get pulled and it comes to light, you're likely looking at a £30 fine, if that.
several of my mates have been running them for over a year, not one has been caught speeding in this time... but none have made a habit of deliberately running gatsos or anything, and none of them work in the DVLA....
new number plate manufacturing legislation means it's a little harder to get the plates made nowadays, as you have to produce your documents, but there are ways and means with the smaller outlets...
