Directory enquiries?

Directory enquiries has become a minefield. There suddenly seem to be loads of them around and it's hard to know what we're getting into when we dial. Whilst in France, I used the 118 118 number only to find that it's cost me a fortune. Be careful.

118888 seems to be one of the cheapest,that what it said in the papers the other day.
Be careful when you ring cos some directory enquiries companies are working with the companies you are ringing up to find and they can put you direct through on premium rate lines [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] so make sure you get the number and you dial it.

Some of the company's use a high cat connection fee, ie you ask or they ask if you want to be connected then they charge you at the 09 type number fee 
bt still charge the normal rate but are not the cheapest, yet are not the most expensive, but probably the most reliable of the lot
