Deerhunter,
The second number is the one I ring if I need to spaek to my 'personal advisor'.
And he rings me up in the evenings at this sort of time, just try giving them a bell now, I think they work an evening shift.

Puff,
There was an article in one of the daily papers recently, Daily Mail, or Mirror, and I think one of the examples was a chap buying an Impreza Turbo, financed independantly from the dealer.

The article went on to say that privately arranged loans were considerably better than at least some of the dealer arrnged car loans.

It stated various flat rates, APR's etc and it was a little bit depressing, given that only a few weeks before I had signed up for another 3 years of 'drip' with IM.

I don't know if, or by how much I would have been better of sourcing my own capital, and to be honest I don't think I want to know now.

Its like so many things in life, you feel you have just got a good deal on the purchase of a commodity, wsahing machine, computer, holiday etc and then you read somewhere about how the same thing or better is available for less.

Given that this car purchase was completly impulsive, If I had had to start organizing a loan and waiting for monies to be released etc paying of the outstanding balance on my old car and all the potential delay involved, then I would probably have not 'done the deal'.

So in response to your question, about if the same sort of thing on loans still applies, apparently and sadly for myself, YES.

Cheers MTR
