Check out www.a1comms.co.uk - they are selling the above phone for £39.99 (was £29.99 until a few days ago). These are effectively pay-as-you-go (ie no minimum contract / call charges only)

I've bought a couple.

FAO the Mods - this is not advert and I am not connected with them in any way shape or form

The add says you pay for the calls made by direct debit...how cheap are the calls though?

I managed to sneak in and get 2 of the 808 clamshell models.
If you choose the 3to go tariff the calls are cheap enough and I like the phone a lot. There is lots of info on the web re the customer service but it seems reasonable to me so far.
Super phone at the price too. Go along to CPW and trade in an old Moto like me and they will give you a new 808 for £30! Or less...

Do you just order online and they send it or is there any forms to fill in?

Question

Are the call charges actual video calls, or just voice calls?

Just found this message on the website:

"Due to 3 running out of stock of the NEC e808 we have removed this handset from our website, As a result of this we will only be able to process a small percentage of the order’s we have received, A1 Comms apologise for any inconvenience caused by this but the situation is out of our hands."

Hope it doesn't effect anyone here though.

Bruce there are sites offering an extra handset free if you sign up for 750 mins a month. I asked for and got £100 cashback on the contract deal instead of an extra phone.
(It was a conditional offer with £50 back after 3 months and another £50 after 6.)

Wahey, just got one from the Carphone warehouse in Urmston and it is cool !

Paid #49.99 but it was worth the tenner not to have to wait in and mess about, they have a few left, thought I would end up with the non flip one (808Y ?) but its the flip one.

My wife thinks its hideous and I suppose it is a bit clumpy but what a piece of kit after my 3410, lloking forward to many hours of fiddling and I may at some point even call somebody !
