As the subject says? I have an older model Road Angel and I am contemplating getting the laser detector to plug in, just wondered if it was any good and worth having over and above the GPS functions.

I thought the laser detectors were useless because the beam is so narrow if it detects a laser that means you have been got. laser diffusers are sposed to be better but even them are not effective against decent lasers....

I have the laser detector with my road angel
Don’t bother it works

But you need four laser detectors one for the vertical surfaces frot and rear index plates and one each for the screen for over bridge detection.

By which time its to late, you are caught on video and your speed is logged
Remember you have to detect it to jam/scatter it, same rules above apply

The laser beam is to narrow and reading is taken close, 75m to stop detection
Then its all to late.

Road Angel is worth its weight in gold for all fixed systems.

Buy one NOW!

I love my Road Angel, would not go back to not having one. All the laser detectors are pretty much the same.
For GPS and fixed, mobile etc, would defo not go without - worth its weight in gold!

I've just bought the Road Angel and even in the manual it says the lasers pick you up in a split second. That's why I don't bother plugging the detector in, in addition I don't like the bloody thing dangling from my windscreen.

All in all the Road Angel is spot on on its on! Haven't had any false alarms yet.
