What a smashing idea.....

Following an accident on the A34 this morning the Police and Oxfordshire Highways Dept were out handing drivers bottles of water while stuck in traffic queues to cool drivers and passengers down.

Damn fine idea, pity oter authorities don't follow suit in this weather when u get stuck in traffic for hours on end.

Hats off to Thames Valley Police and Oxfordshire Highways Dept...nice 1 lads

there is a service station down the road bug...they can relieve themselves there in privacy lol

i just think it makes a change for the police to actually think of the motorists for once instead of picking fault with motorists all the time

the drivers filmed seemed genuinely grateful for the thought in such hot weather...they weren't small bottles of water either, 2 litre ones...nice gesture, and should be repeated wherever long delays are happening...saves having to pick up the pieces from an accident caused by a driver dying from heat stroke

A woman was done recently for drinking water from a bottle while sat at some traffic lights when they were on red. What is the difference? The police should be done for aiding known villans! [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

I thought the law where you could ask "an office of the law" to "shield you with his cape" while you took a leak was still actually in force.
