Last night i went to see Bruce Almighty with my mate Jenny in a local town (Builth Wells to be precise!)
School holidays so it was packed full of groups of teenagers and teen couples.
The film was quite funny in places but was spoilt a little by the girl behind me who kept telling her mate in a loud voice things that were about to happen just before they did! I felt like elbowing her in the face!
Also I'm sure alcohol isn't allowed in cinemas (correct me if i'm wrong) but halfway through the film, we heard a commotion behind us as a girl had to run out and puke in the toliets (which were behind a curtain to the right) we could hear her yakking up very loudly, her mate then came back (from looking after her i think) and tripped (sounded like she fell flat on her ****) over all the bottles that were on the floor by their seats, this was greeted by loud giggles from all their other pissed up mates.
Grrrrrr
anyone else got nightmare cinema experiences? (should this be in NSR?)

I hate this sort of thing.
I was at the cinema recently (can't remember what we saw) and this guy's LOUD mobile phone starts ringing.
Well okay, if was a mistake, then I could forgive the error, but this **** actually answers the phone and starts having a conversation - in a normal speaking voice (not a hushed whisper)
Then it happens again about 10 minutes later!
(BTW it wasn't Dom Jolly with a giant phone - in case you're thinking that )
Re: alcohol
I think it depends on the cinema's own policy.
Our local cinema (the Dominion in Edinburgh - very nice) has a bar.
If you order a beer, you can have it in a glass to drink at the bar or a plastic "glass" to take into the theatre.
If you go for the posh electric leather recliners, you get a beer, spirit or glass of wine on your little table beside your seat.

I had a similar experience at Northampton UGC.
Complained to the manager a couple of days later I was still so annoyed. He offered me free tickets or a refund.
Do the same.

I had to tell a woman to "shut the f*ck up" after she was whittering away during the Fellowship of the Ring. The silly bint was actually saying "Oh no! Don't do that!" as Frodo was wrestling with the temptation to put on The Ring.
She shut up after that.
Anyone talking through a film should be set on fire.

agree witchfinder.
had loads of experiences with stupid kids having their phones ringing in the middle of the film who then answer the call in their seats and speak at full volumne; blokes who shout over the film to talk to the person next to them; people who laugh twice as loud as everyone else at all the unfunny bits ro because theyre having a hilarious conversation with their mate; or..and this is worst....when you get some some stupid bint sat in the chair behind who doesnt understand the film and asks her boyf to explain the whole way through.
the last one happened in the Matrix 2. Look love...if you havent seen the first one...DONT COME TO SEE THE SECOND ONE!!!!
GRRRRRRRRR...god she made me soooooo mad.

Next week on scoobynet:
I bloody hate going to the cinema and halfway through the film someone is talking and then there is a big "whoosh-boom" and everyone starts screaming. Can't see the film as my eyes start stinging from the smoke.

watch T3, that's good but steer clear of Legally Blonde 2, unless you understand the American government system Reese can only hold my attention for so long

By the way is there any law about booze in cinemas or is this up to the theatres discretion ???

Went to see Matrix Reloaded.... soon decided to move to the opposite end of the row...The guy behind us was giving a running commentary to his Mrs who obviously was not a Matrix afficianado !

I was in the cinema in Salisbury last year and there were some annoying teenagers chatting and giggling a few rows in front of us. One of the cinema staff came in told them to shut up, they didn't. 10 minutes later the manager came in and told them to leave! Only time I have seen that and good on him.

Its people eating that really winds me up. At the best of times I hate the sound of people eating (if they do it with their mouth open, its worse).
But in a cinema, all bloody kinds of munching paraphanaelia come out - god damn monster bucket popcorn thingies and slurpy cokes. This may be a personal beef but I hate this.

I once had an accident watching the new matrix film (not that kinda accident !) We were late (i know its annoying but we didnt do it on purpose) and it was a special 3D viewing of it. It was absolutly pitch black. Could just make out the seats so we did the old "scuse me scuse me" routine sat down and my mate offered another mate some popcorn, he put out his hand to signal no but hit the bucket wrong and some poor git in front got covered in a mega bucket. I was sooooo embarrased even though it was nowt to do with me. The fella didn't even turn round though, which was kinda strange lol

reminds me of a couple of years ago, we were near the back somewhere, went to open my bag of M&M's (peanuts obviously) and the bag split wide open and the whole contents proceeded to spill onto the floor, 'cause the floor is sloped towards the front, all you could hear for a couple of minutes was these M&M's rolling down towards the front of the cinema, i could hear the whole audience trying not to LOL
