A friend mines got caught last night at home with 2 he was looking after 
Long story but, anyway got to pop down to the station at 7pm.
What punishment can he expect?

Dont really know in the current political climate - the law has got a bit hazy (no pun intended) recently - may even vary dpending on where in the country your mate is.
Also, may depend on how the police found the plants in the first place - if they were doing a bust cos the guy had previously been under surveillance or something or under suspicion of growing/dealing then....
How did they 'find' the plants in the first place? Why were the police in his house/shed/attic/lock up?
Would be interested to hear the outcome.

Its not me, im a northerner 
Its gym person i know from stratford upon avon area.
The story is, his mam had got done for drink driving
She was at the station and the police where asking if any drugs in the house.
She turns round " yeah my son has 2 canabis plants in his room" d'oh

I just bet the Police have not heard that one before!
I would imagine thay will ask your 'friend' (yeah, right!) who is the rightful owner and get them to verify it. If not then i recon it is his unles he can prove otherwise.
I would expect a caution and a cavity search (for good measure!)

It is classed as a Class B drug under the 'Misuse of Drugs Act 1971'
6.-(1) Subject to any regulations under section 7 of this Act for the time being in force, it shall not be lawful for a person to cultivate any plant of the genus Cannabis.

A few years back my sis and her fella got raided, they had over 40 plants growing in a greenhouse. !! Well they spent quite some time in the nick and then released and told they would hear from them shortly. Couple of weeks past and they got a phone call saying they had been given a caution, all the plants were male and wouldnt of budded to produce anything !! bit of luck i suppose.

lol at Burr, naa they arent the gardening type. I think it was the fact that everytime someone visited they would show them the plants, probably why the neighbour mentioned it to plod.

Have they come into flower???? if not tell the Old Bill that they are hemp. The only way to prove it is ganja is they would have to flower them to prove the strain of the plant, or send them to a Lab.

Si.....he shouldn't worry about it.Just a verbal telling off at most.
Where i live a few months back a lad was in court after police foud over 20k worth of cannabis plants in an outbuilding.Went to court,just got a discharge,no fine nothing.
Magistrate said until the law was clarified he'd refuse to give out any punishment.

The law's clear. It's illegal and can lead to a prison sentence.
What isn't clear is how much the police are going to use their discretion to turn a blind eye - or the CPS.
The woman can also get slapped - it's also illegal to allow it to be grown in premises you own or manage.
