"Prime Minister Tony Blair can always rely on his wife Cherie to lighten the mood at a time of crisis - this time by breaking into song. The high-flying lawyer needed little prompting before she serenaded a group of students in the Chinese capital Beijing with the first verse of the Beatles hit "When I'm 64"."

Story

Good old Cherie, can always be relied upon for her sense of occasion!

Hubby and his gang hound a great British scientist to death, to the disgust of the nation, and silly knickers is beating out karaoke as the poor old b@stard is laying cold in the morgue.

With a missus like that, who needs enemies. I'd be surprised if this ar$ehole makes the next election.

So, what would you lot have done if the students had asked you to sing along live on TV?

Telling them to sod off wouldn't have gone down well me thinks. It did make me cringe, but at least she had the ***** to do it

She could have declined and said she had a sore throat of is tone ******* deaf. Anything would have been better than what she did.

I hope the Blairs get the ******* boot ASAP and end up selling the Big Issue.

The man was hounded into suiside and nobody wants to take responsability for their actions now. I hopr the ******* have trouble sleeping for the rest of their lives.

How bad do you have to treat someone to make them lie down in a field and cut their wrist and bleed to death all alone and without their family?

In what way was anyone "hounded to their death"?

The chap concerned broke a major rule - you don't talk to the press. If you do (and David Shayler was a very recent example) you can end up in prison, out of a job, and minus your pension.

Mr High and Mighty decided he was above the law and broke it; fair enough, we all do it from time to time, but the consequences have to be weighed up.

Civil servants can't have it all ways - if he was so much a man of principle he should have resigned his position over it, rather than slipping a story to the papers in the hope that the elected government of the day would have their policies disrupted.

Not that I have any time for Blair, you understand, but this is just another example of government bashing by the press, the very ones who were so desperate to find out the source of the leaks themselves.
