Right folks, you've heard me blat on about decking my boss, and wanting to go self-employed....
Well today i have given in my notice, and as from the 3rd August will be contracting back to my existing company for, get this 3 days a week. (2 on site, one from home)
My boss has been very kind about this, and has offered to pay me pretty much what i was getting, for this reduced role.
Will give me a couple of days a week to build up some local work as well.
I am so chuffed, but dont have any dosh to celebrate, so you can all go and have a beer for me at a suitable juncture.
Thanks for all your advice, scoobynetters, and keep up the good posts.
Right, where's that Subaru brochure.......????

owbow, perservere (sp?) mate.
I used to sell photocopiers, once upon a time - and i was really crap at it, then one day out of the blue, i tripped over a huge order.
what with a 5 year rental agreement, exorbitant cost per copy, and a nice 3 months rental up front, i made a tidy sum.
the company who bought these copiers, went bust, trying to get out of this agreement.
never mind eh???
they signed it!!!
you never know whats round the corner, but as with anything, give it a good go first!!!
good luck

Plenty of time to go fishing then. *cough*
with mates *cough*
with mates *cough*
I used to have a mate who lost his job, and used to phone him everyday, to make sure he was OK etc...
Now he's got a job, i dont hear from him.
PS: fairweather mates only **** you over in the long run, so you're best off without.
I'll survive, i'm sure.

Ah BB that must be the same 'friend' you were supposed to go fishing with one weekend, and when that 'friend' phoned you up on the Friday night you answered the phone, heard who it was and put the phone down. Then on the Saturday you just simply didn't turn up. No phone call was made to tell him you weren't gonna turn up. Then when that 'friend' got home on the Sunday night he saw you had posted on a thread on scoobynet about having a boring weekend and how you had said you were supposed to go fishing but couldn't be ar$ed.
Wonder why that 'friend' didn't bother to call you after that? Perhaps he was waiting for a call back from you to explain why you had put the phone down on him and didn't have the courtesy to at least let him know you had changed your mind about the weekend?
Strange how you think its the 'friends' fault and resort to calling him a fair weather friend!
Oh well, I am sure he will 'survive' as well.

I took voluntary redundancy a few weeks back... thinking ... oh no now what....but I've got a p/t job at (well known Garden Centre on A30) time on my hands to do my own thing and start up my own little enterprise.... and doors are opening all over the place...and I've never been happier.
so good luck to you and I'm sure you'll succeed at whatever you do.
