Norrie Haga was the king of Laguna -- I remember when he was on the Yam 750 (2000 championship I think), he was AWESOME in the corkscrew, every lap he would pull out a 100-yard lead on everyone.
He would just straight-line the section while everyone else was trying to steer round it .... I miss him on that Yam
