Question

To cut a long story short part of my front tooth cap has come away, i have the bit, in one piece. Cannot get the dentist to look at it until next Thursday.

It is a bit unsightly, being one of my front teeth.

Does anyone know of a glue or such i can bodge it back together with until then. Pretty sure the material is Porcelain.

Title supposed to read dental not detal but not had enough caffine yet!

If you're desparate, I've even heard of people using Superglue! I'm not sure how advisable it is, but it's been done...

I wouldnt, I remember reading a story a few years back (in maxim or summit like that) that some guy had died due to superglue in his mouth, glueing his teeth

The fumes killed him

D'oh! Please don't try the Superglue thing, folks!

A colleague of mine said she'd done this - she's not one for taking the pi$$. Maybe she actually was winding me up, or she's just quite foolhardy!

I've used superglue several times to fix broken fillings etc. Make sure all surfaces are clean & dry() before affixing.

The hardest part is making sure you get your fingers off before they become glued to your tooth!

I have had a superglue repair last for a week or so......be prepared to have to refix - its a bummer to get the old glue off before re-gluing!

Find the fumes thing difficult to beleive, for such a tiny amount!

*Disclaimer*

if you decide to use superglue on your tooth, then be it on your own head, someone has died through doing this you have been warned

Thumbs down

from what I heard, it's not just the fumes, it's also things like methacrylates (nasties) etc in the glue that get absorbed into the blood stream...

I've used superglue previously, it lasted about a week, biggest problem as mentioned is making sure you don't stick your finger to your teeth !!!!
I'd be suprised if it is "life threatening" after all it is used in the medical world to stick cuts together.
