Im thinking of buying some Wahl clippers. How hard is to learn how to do gradings so they dont look like they've been done by a 2 year old? Is there a technique to doing it well?

Just go for 0 grade. My boyfriend does it.Sometimes I do it for him.No mess,no complain, all off! And,he looks great and sexy! It's just when he argues with me,I call him an egghead!!

Ive got a wahl set - they're fine. Grade 1 all over. Get someone to check you for the first few times as you always miss bits at first. The trick is to use even pressure all over and dont rush.

I have a set of Wahl clippers, grade 0 all over for me and I look damn sexy as a result You do miss bits at first Takes about 15-20 minutes, and zero ridiculous hairdresser bills.
Did anyone find people in the street treat you differently with no hair? People daren't sit next to me on the train now

I have some Remington Cordless Clippers with a Ceramic Blade, so now I can cut my hair over the bath and simply wash away the hair (what little there is)
I just whack it down to 0 and go right down to the wood, as long as you do everywhere a couple of times you don't leave any daft long bits.

The hair did grow back, and actually I quite enjoyed it - very low maintenance. You need to keep it razored though, otherwise when it gets a bit spiky after a week or so it acts like velvet, and the pillow sticks to your head in bed.
The other advantage was that I always seemed to get a double-seat on the train to work in the morning.
Only downside was that 'cos we did it in a pub (see video) my wife and I had had a few drinks. The next morning I walked into the bathroom with a bald head and footy shirt on, and she thought I was a nutter coming in to attack her and screamed. Took her a few seconds to realise it was me with no hair.

I got started on by a scallie on his bikes, he rides past me and mumbles something, so I stop walking, he stops riding etc.. never happened when I had hair lol..

rr_ww,
It's easy to use clippers on yourself, and get a decent result, with a single grade attachment.
If you want to use two grades (eg. G2 on sides, G4 on top) you'll need someone else to do it for you to get an even look and transition all round! (and to get the fluffy bits at the back as previously mentioned, as you kill htese with Grade 0!)
Oh yeah - stick with Wahl.
Joolz
3&5 from the missis every 2 weeks - she says it's easy to do and is finished in <5 minutes !

LOL @ down to the wood.
Be very careful to attach the guard securely or it will fall off and you end up with a landing strip. You then have to either take the whole lot down to 0 or incorporate it into a pattern like Union Jack, or Nike swoosh.

Cheers for the replies
Basically If I want the same number all over I can do it myself easily. But If I want my usual 2 on top and .5 side then its a case of getting someone else to do it, so it looks even.
