Speed Camera Poll, What would you do?
#1
Probably get sent straight to Non Scooby related, which is a shame as this provides a car enthusiasts sample on feelings to "safety" cameras.
Picture this:-
Speed camera on straight dual carriageway with a 40mph limit No obvious hazzards.
character on a step ladder busy spraying the lens with black paint.
Do you
a. Ring the police and report what you have seen.
b. Tut to yourself and ignore it.
c. Laugh, toot you horn and give the character the thumbs up.
d. Stop and offer to hold the ladder and suggest another camera that requires a similar treatment.
I'll start the vote C for me

Is this a hypothetical situation or is the poor guy in need of a hand right now?
BTW, what about option E: Chuck him a few quid for another can of paint?

Where was this Ross? (I don't want to know the actual location but can you describe the area?). Built up area? Central res? Junctions etc? Was the limit IYO a reasonable one?

I can see a situtaion in the not-too-distant future that a proper active organisation will form.
Specialising in the immobilisation of speed cameras.
I'd join
The preferred method by me is an old tire and some pertol
It's about time the government/Police realise that they are seriously damaging public opinion
As for the Orignal Question....a Thumbs up for me, Or if I'm in my Landy - I'll offer to attacth my Tow rope and pull it over so He does'nt need to use a ladder

Rear shovel on a JCB worked quite well locally - may even have been accidental, although having three "accidents" in a row is probably quite unusual . C for me, without the toot.

Hypothetical question, but they are common enough
All over Hemel Hempstead, North Circular, you name it...
My particular favorite is the Luton road going into Dunstable,
Dual carriage way 40 mph through Luton fair enough schools and a Hospital, enter Dunstable no hospital or schools and it drops to 30MPH! WTF! if you drove at that speed you would cause an accident.
Its a total joke and guess where you can find the local boys in blue with their latest mobile "safety"(my @rse) camera, yep you guessed it in the middle of the carriageway, doors open having a field day.By the way with the doors open how can they claim that the van provides a visible deterrant, arnt they supposed to be obvious or something to qualify?
I have nothing against the police, they have a tough job to do and I admire their dedication, however the current attitude to speeding where people are being entrapped and targeted driving normally where inappropriate speed limits have been set is alienating and destroying a lot of the good will the police rely on.
(Steps of soap box and mingles back into the crowd)

e) suggests he invests in a battery drill with a high speed drill bit, drills a small hole in the camera and fill it with expanding foam, then use liquid metal to glue up the lock and all the joints so it cant be opened.
f) hang a tyre round it, fill it with disel and torch it
i pick e)
