I have been fairly disappointed with the police in the last few years. But I have just had a startling suprise.

I was walking through a park in Cambridge after returning from mothercare back to my office, 2 policewoman on bikes cycling in the other direction said "good afternoon" with a smile.

Then when crossing the road another policeman on foot at the pedestrian crossing said hello.

are they making more of a conscious effort to be visible or is it because the sun is shining ??.

I saw a plod with "community Safety Officer" on the back of this jacket yesterday lunchtime as i came out of Tesco. He was having a word with 2 lads on bikes for riding on the pavement.

I thought it made a nice change that the plod are not *all* busy extracting speed tax from motorists.
