Best way of transporting a scooter 220 miles?
10 July 2003, 10:46 AM
The one who must be obeyed wants her scooter moved from her home to my place but we are having issues with how is the best possible way to do this when its a trip of 220 miles.
Basically its a case of ride it all the way and take years doing so and face the danger on the motorway or I have to aquire a trailer and a tow bar for the scoob which could cost quite a bit?
Any sensible ideas on the best way to get around this? Anyone got a trailer and towbar they want to lend me for a weekend?
Also whats the deal on insurance, does the insurance company have to be told about towing a trailer?
I did tell her to post it here but she wouldn't listen

I'm with fin, just hire a Tranny (I mean a van, not a hairy bloke in a skirt)

OK van sounds good idea, I will suggest she looks at how much it will cost and then add on my driving fees and petrol

Lmao @ the replies on this thread
The Tranny (snigger) is your best bet
Unless you know some one with a large estate car coming down from there, thats how I moved my mates Lambretta.

Or... Sell it then buy another one at the new location. Might not be as stupid a suggestion as it sounds once you price up van hire, fuel etc.

Its being moved here because it cant be sold easily if its so far away!

Oh and its only 110 miles away but the round trip to get there and bring it back is 220 obviously. Still think tho 110 miles on the motorway/dual carriageway is too much on a scooter.
