there's a product mentioned in today's Mail called Photo Blocker made by a company in the USA (where else?) Called Phantom Plate. They reckon it reflects the flash given off by speed cameras. Thereby making resulting photos unreadable. Anyone tried it?

I saw something about this a little while ago.

I think the police could still read the plate though by reversing the colours. i.e. make it look like a negative. The part of the plate without lettering reflects more and so leaves a white outline (negative) of the letters allowing them to read it.

Not sure if they were the same plates but these were reflective plates of some sort.

Just put false plates on your car.I had a wrong set of plates on my car for 5 years unknowingly until it was spotted by an mot tester. The H and the G where the wrong way round. Not sure if this was the reason but never had one single ticket.
Had two since it was corrected.

speed trap bible has tested all these products with a real gatso and the police's help and basically there all dont work, except one that blanks the number plate at an angle but it also does it to every police car you pass.

best thing is a GPS system and a decent detector, and a laser jammer if you feal like getting done for perverting the course ...

Or a set of LCD number plates, cunningly they shift letters around when driving over 20mph, when stationary reverts to correct numbers.

A pal of mine had these plates on a car.

I tested them by photographing them with a digital camera and not once was the registration visible, it was just a white light the entire length of the plate.

Apparently though they can still be read by some method or other if needed.

This stuff is a spray on substance. You have to lay the plates flat on the ground and totally soak them with the spray about 3 or more times. It coats the plate withan invisible film which supposably reflects the flash from the speed cam.All that then alledgedly shows up on the photo is a white plate.

How does that protect you from the feker on the bridge with a stopwatch?

I have a 100% sucessful plan - slow down if you think there is any possibility you can be spotted.

If you can get something between you and the laser and block it they can’t read your plate or target it.

Try Tailgating or Swerving all over the road.

Drive below the speed limit and block all the roads up.
Remember the speed limit is the maximum speed, you dont have to do it.

Apart from not speeding, there is another way. You can get a voltage sensitive LCD "screen" (Like those shuttered glasses for 3D computer displays)

Fit one in front of your plate. When it's switched on, everything's black. When it's off, then it's see thru' and you can read the plate.

Just wire it up to your blackspot detector...

Try driving around Chapeltown, Sheffield. The roads are so full of pot-holes it's impossible to drive fast. Good plan on behalf of the council.
