Oakley Polarised lenses

Pah! All you plano lens wearers don't know nuffink about optics
Prescription Oakleys are arond £370
Might as well get myself something with some decent Carl Zeiss lenses for that price
PS: I think that polarized are ideal for driving on wet roads with a low sun, i.e. where the light's reflected well beyond the Brewster angle.

Yup, do it! I have A wires with Polarised lenses, a) they look cool , b) I spend a lot of time down by lake Ontario (as I live on it's shores) and the polarisation really helps with the reflections from the water. They also make driving better too.

I have just bought my 1st set of oakleys and I got Red irridium lenses....
WOW!! there is a noticable difference... and I also use mine for driving and they are excellent... I have not experienced any glare when using them.
Well worth it IMO!

I've got a pair of Ful metal Jackets, a few years old now, but one of the legs are have snapped.
Dont want to buy a new pair cos the lenses are perfect in them.

I have a pair of prescription oakleys which I mainly use for driving. I'm pretty sure the optician recommended not to go for the polarised option because in direct sunlight you would be able to see the lines on the lense (a bit like a heated windscreen)and it might prove to be annoying.
These are mine ........

I have a pair of X metal XX's I have black iridium lenses, but want blue lenses, not prescribtion.
Now then, nobody does these lenses, and if I find a pair no optitions will fit them.
Basically they have to go back to Oakley, they dont know how long they will have them, and they have quoted a price which is well over the top.
Can anyone enlighten me.

I've used Polarised glasses for driving for the last 5 years (Polaroid's Premium X-OOR range).
I wouldn't use anything else ~ biggest advantage is almost total removal of glare from the rear window of the car in front, so you can see through unhindered.

I have some Juliets. The lenses have acouple of annoying scratches now though. Does anybody know how much they cost to replace. Can I get replacement from oakley dealers?? Or do you have to fanny around calling some oakley office?

Nick,
As newbie said all repairs and or replacements to be carried out by Oakley, £85 for for new lenses for mine, but only 55 dollars in America, rip off Britain.

Can't believe it is worth spending nearly 400 quid on a set of sunglasses, unless you feel the need to impress.
I find Optix Cormorant polarised fishing glasses work really well to subdue the glare. Only cost about 35 quid as well. I can use them for fish spotting too

I love my Oakley polarised, and I need them as I am extremely sensitive to glare.
It's true that you can get any polarised lenses and they'll cut glare, even a pair of 40-quid Polaroids. Just up to you if you like the style and think the lens quality generally is acceptable. I decided that as I was living in a very sunny country, I was justified in splashing out.

Johnny50 - Oakley have a warrenty department in this country and I know one of the people that work there. I will see what can be done.
It might be a case of nothing but it might also be a case of send in the glasses and then they get sent back to you!

Oakley warranties are usually pretty good if you can do without them for a week or two. My brother only had lowly £100 eye jackets and had them on top of his head playing basketball when he someone managed to hit them with a ball and broke the arm off. They were out of warranty but Oakley asked no questions - he sent them off and got a new pair 2 weeks later. We know as we put a UV mark on the nose piece.

Oakley, apparently, don't like repairing things... They just reissue, no I don't know how true that is but my mate is fairly well placed.
