Dover to Calais

Im looking to go to the continent the first week in August. I have been looking on the PandO website and for a 7 day ferry ticket it cost £307. However for a 24 hour return you can get it for £40.

Right i believe you can buy tickets at the port. What i was thinking of doing was getting a one day return paying by cash ...... not coming back and then getting another 24hr ticket from Calais 7 days later on the way back. Net result £80 instead of £307.
Im pretty sure the ferries arent booked up solid and they go every 30 mins or so.

What say you guys? How do you do it? Would it work?

If you're looking for cheap ferry... try

www.ferrysavers.com
08704 44 1473

they are offering Dover-Calais return - travel to 30th September on P & O

5 day return £62
8 day return £92
10 day return £107
17 day return £142

Car + 9 passengers.
Promotional Code - TD3

I have checked out the P&O £10 per day offer but it appears you have to book and travel by 14th July. I'm also looking to go for a week in September. We've booked with Ferrysavers before and they're pretty good.

Thumbs down

TVR Gary: Ferrysavers is P&O's bucket shop, they sell the tickets at short notice for VERY low prices.

Be VERY careful with trying the "two day returns = a cheap period return" route. AFAIK, you HAVE to pay for the cheapo tickets by credit/debit card, and they retain the right to charge you full fare if their computer tells them you didn't use both halves of a cheap return!
