Watched it on Film Four for the last 2 nights running:

The Long Good Friday

An absolute classic. Forget ******, Lock Stock, Essex Boy's they are just fancy Dans. The Long Good Friday is the daddy no question.
.
The Mafia, I just **** them
And a young Pierce Brosnan as an IRA gunman, Gillian Taylforth when you'd want to have a blow job off her. Charlie from Casualty when he was slicing them up rather than stitching them up. And Bob Hoskins before he went to America.
Get Carter is a very, very close second, but TLGF id the one

Nah, Love Honour and Obey has got to be the best. I see Sexy Beast the other day, blinding film!!

Anything with Ray in it usually is the bollox IMHO.

"Look at ya, Leatherman, Leatherman, you're like a big fat f*cking crocodile, i could make a suitcase out of you!" Classic

TLGF and Get Carter for me.
I wonder how many people realise that the book from which Get Carter was filmed, ("Jack's return home"), was set in Scunny?
Apparently, the film-makers didn't see Scunny as sexy enough..........can't think why not??:

Good Fellas, Donny Brasco and Pulp Fiction.

If I had to choose 1 it would be Good Fellas.

Enlish you turnip

for me it would be either gangster No 1, or sexy beast.

there was another good film with ray winstone & that ugly bird that plays waynetta slob, can't remember the name , or even if was about gangsters - very good film though.

Gillian Taylforth when you'd want to have a blow job off her
LMFAO!!!!

Mind you gangster #1? Rates in my top 10 worst film of *all* time

LGF is a classic just like lock stock and ****** will be in 20 years time.

Perhaps the (grand)Daddy of them - Brighton Rock.
May be a bit dated now but must have been dead cool when it first came out.
Great acting though by Dickie Attenborough

I'd have to say "The Limey" with Terence Stamp is worth a punt as well. Sort of like Get Carter in America.

Interesting(?) aside:

I spotted Bricktop (aka Alan Ford) as a taxi driver in An American Werewolf In London the other night. When was that filmed? 1982-ish? He hasn't changed!

The 1971 original 'Get Carter' is the best by a mile!

But i must admit 'The Long Good Friday' and 'Sexy Beast' are two top Brit ganster flicks also

Non-brit films, one of my favourites is 'State of Grace' (Sean Penn).
