Question

Anyone know where I can order some decent racing boots online? Any particular shoes / suppliers you can recommend?

i sugest you go to a store and try them on, race boots have to fit snugly to be of full use and you cant go off size only, as each manufacturers tend to be slightly diferent.

I use MOMO boots, sparco are a good make too.

I recently bought some funky retro Gola trainers from TJ Hughes for £15. They look a bit like the Sparco/Puma driving shoe you can buy (called the Speed Cat I think) and have a nice thin sole.

I find they are just as good to drive in as my Sparco boots I use for rallying which cost four times as much. Just less ankle support I suppose as the boots go right up over my ankles and have velcro strap at the top to keep them tight.

And the Gola's aren't fireproof!

Plus, you don't look like a complete tit when you get out of the car and walk into the pub in the trainers!

There are loads of different styles of boots avaialble though. Alpine Stars are good quality and good designs. As used by some of the top WRC boys.
Sparco, goes without saying.
The No Fear boots are very trick, but also very expensive.
Diadora look a bit **** in my opinion.
OMP are similar to Sparco, as are MOMO.

It all depends on what you are going to use them for and what style, design, and name you want.

no affiliation blah blah blah

Must admit, like the Asics (as used by someone called Mika) The Mizunos (Damon) and the Sparco/Pumas (as used by most people in F1)

However, personally I use Reebok Classics as id feel a right tit going into a shop wearing race boots
