Cool

Technically It doesn't actually become yours until it is put on a vehicle in your name

Then if you put it on retention the document will be in your name

Exclamation

If you want to put it on a car, go to your local DVLA office, but remember to take the MOT, V5 and tax disk for the car you want it to go on! I took my insurance documents along just in case they needed those as well.

You need to be put yourself on as a nominee first before you can put it on a car in your name. I think it's about £10-15. Then when you get the certificate back with you named on it you will then be able to put it on your vehicle. Well that's what I was told anyway.
