Worried about taking the scoob down there.. dont want to leave it anywhere where it will be moved offsite.. (heavy security on car) going to be gone for 14days..
is it safe to leave it in airport hotels? or do they move them offsite anyway???
might just get a coach (national xpress)
also; any recommendations for on site hotel/parking deals???

My personal advice would be don't take the car. Lots of horror stories about.
You'll enjoy your holiday much more safe in the knowledge that your car is safely tucked up at home

We just parked it(4 week old MY03STIPPP) in the 'Flighpath'? long term carpark. On the drive in we saw 911's, M3's a tonne of scoobs and an Evo. I think you are as likely to have something bad happen to it at home/at a hotel/whereever. It's just down to luck.

Some hotels do let you leave car parked if you stay one night
Prices are about £100
Guess it depends if you can get a mate to drive or cost of taxi train

Just leave it in the Airport parking. I've left my car there on many many occasions for up to 3 weeks and never had any problems.
I'm sorry, but if you are that paranoid about leaving your car in an airport carpark then you should maybe consider changing your car.
Sorry, I do love scoobs, but come on, this is getting silly "ooh, is it safe to leave my car in an airport car park" purrrlease! I've never ever heard a porsche driver worry about leaving their car at gatters airport.
If you have insurance, then what are you worrying about?
Anyway, I don't think the hotels would be any cheaper or less secure than gatwick to be honest. If you're really paranoid why not ask Maffa or Dyney to look after the car for you, I'm sure they would keep her ticking over whilst your away!

There are horror stories about parking at airports, however how many people park at airports? Its a simple fact that people complain more than they complement therefore you will normally only hear bad stories.
Personally I'd leave my car at the airport and go off and enjoy myself. Theres probably a greater chance of it getting stolen from home!
As regards Hotels and parking, I believe that many move your car into a long stay car park

thanks guys.
I just dont want it moving offsite cos it means giving the blakjax code, tracker card etc.. too much hassle..
If it stays put in the hotel car park.. Im happy.
as for you Markus; my main concern was for the above reasons..
thats all.. go patronise someone else..
and yeah I have insurance; but if I claim for theft I can forget about owning anther scoob in a hurry.. premium would be horrendous following theft and by the sounds of it unlike you I havent got money to burn..

Chrome, I do NOT have money to burn far from it. My point was not just aimed at you but others who are, in my, obviously small minded, opinion, are way to **** about car parking at airports. I've seen many more expensive and more nickable cars than scoobs in airport car parks. I do agree you stay away due to the horror stories, but, well, it's only a small percent.

What kind of prices do these people charge for a week of parking?
I might need to leave mine down there next week as well.
Any ideas?
