You may be interested to know that the TAG Accident Group an ambulance chasing accident management firm has gone ito administration this morning creating 2500 redundancies who won't get paid this month either.
They are from the same generic breed as Claims Direct who went belly up last year, and knowing that a lot of Judges are refusing a lot of the costs presented by such accident management firms, it is anticipated that many more will follow, along with quite a few law firms who have put the majority of their eggs into the claims management referal basket..
If you have a claim currently being handled by such a firm, either get it transferred to an independant specialist solicitor as soon as possible, or check to ascertain what the chances of them being in business at the conclusion of your case are?
Just glad it doesn't affect us!

About time all this ambulance chasing was bined. I do feel sorry for the staff facing redundancy (been through it myself once) but when these companies resort to hassling you whilst shopping to start a claim it's about time they got shut down (IMO).
The Solicitor my Mum works at stopped doing no-win, no-fee work a while back - they didn't like it one bit.

I am absolutely disgusted by the whole thing. I received a phone call after 11 at night on Thursday telling me not to come to work on Friday as I didn't have a job, and I wouldn't be getting paid. I have bills and a mortgage to pay and am outraged that they can be allowed to do this. I have worked so hard for this company and all they could manage to do was send me an impersonal text message to say I no longer had a job and "unfortunately my wage had not been paid"!

I have great sympathy for the staff, however I will not miss being harrassed by Accident Group employees every time I walk down the High Street, wanting to know if I have had any accidents. You should see them descend on anybody with a limp or a walking stick. Perhaps if there are fewer spurious insurance claims as a result of this company's demise, our premiums might go down.

I think the method of notification to the workers sums up the general ethos of this company. Whilst sympathy will not be hard to find for the now redundant workers, few in this industry will shed any tears for the demise of this organisation.

I was a employee at the accident group in the Manchester head office, and the fact the company was aware of the possibility of this happening and didnt let us know, is very upsetting. I personally am owed approx £1,800 in wages today, and approx £1,500 in commision the next month, this has put us all in very bad positions!!!

I have currently got a claim going through the accident group. When putting a claim in a loan is secured with the Royal Bank of Scotland in your name, payable by you if you fail to complete the claim. The accident group have secured the loan in my sister's name but have not been availble to comment on what is going on with the claim or the loan.

The demise of Accident Group has severely damaged my health. I nearly died laughing. I would sue them but for the fact they are out of business. They promote the cult of the victim, they cause insurance premiums to rise.

As an employee of TAG I am still owed several thousand pounds worth of expenses which I have been trying to recover for a year, in addition to this month's salary payment. It is now likely that I will be forced in to personal bankruptcy. TAG's administration procedures are a cacophonous shambles. The management are simply cowardly. The impact on personal injury departments of solicitors firms throughout the country will be extremely acute if not entirely crippling.

We are in complete distress about being sacked, its not the fact that we have lost our jobs its the manner in which we have. There are people who have families and bills to pay "what are they meant to do"? Many have worked there for a long time who have been offered many jobs before and have turned them down because of the loyalty for the Accident group. Look how we are all repayed notice via a text message. I think its a disgrace.

I left the company on 02.04.03 and I am still waiting for my commission payment of £22,000

I feel sorry for the people that will be left without work as a result of this, but one less "ambulance chaser" has to be a good thing.

tough, its people that allow these companies to do what they do, if they work there i have no sympathy for them.
What about the families that got screwed over as a result of these leeches actions? It works both ways.
Thousands of people are made redundant all the time, you dont hear people bleeting for them and despite all the publicity, they will still be entitled to certain compensations based on years service etc.

These people contribute(d) to the continuing upwards spiral of insurance premiums..... I've got a mortgage etc. to pay too - and it'd be that little bit easier if I paid less to insurance companies.
Bye-bye leeches

We're told that one of the major reasons insurance premiums were rising was due to such claims. Perhaps premiums could start to fall or level-off, now?
It's a shame how Accident Group staff were informed (i.e. text message, etc). That's fairly spineless of their ex-management. However, at this point management have got no reason to be 'nice' or civil to ex-staff members. They're simply reducing costs ASAP. People get laid-off all the time. The only reason we're talking about TAG is 'cos the media latched onto the story, knowing it would run because of the profile of the firm involved.
It's an inductry that shouldn't have been allowed to flourish like it did. I won't miss it.

These firms are leeches,it is not an honourable business opportunity and they actively push people into making claims by encouraging greed. They are the instigators.
I feel sorry for the treatment of the staff and their future problems, but not a very honest kind of business to be in,and they seem to have reaped the reward of being in it.

Bus company Arriva has hired private detectives to scrutinise more than 400 claims made by Manchester-based firm."

These type of firms are scum. The more that go bust, the merrier. It was quite funny that the insurance industry decided to get together and refuse to settle any of the claims put forward by this firm, meaning they had to go to court for each one, pushing thier costs thru' the roof. Looks like it was a pretty successful strategy...
