Angry

[start_rant]
is it just me or is anyone else here just a little fed up of seeing the adverts on tv by certain big name fast food chains, attempting to fatten their revenue by giving away free toys with each kids meal, the toys generally being associated with whatever film / comic / fad the kids happen to be into.

Surely there should be a law against this?

When I didnt have kids I didnt give a damn, now its really beginning to p1ss me off...

Agree completely......

....and more to the point, why can't you get them free with an adult meal? You are spending more money on the meal, so surely you should be able to get the gift if you wanted it
Specially annoying for the geeks among us who might occasionally want to collect them

Cool

I've probably got it bookmarked somewhere

I know what you mean though.....akin to another thread that was around not long ago, it was unheard of going to burger chains for Sunday lunch, but so many families do it now. Glad I was brought up on a roast and lots of veg

Ha, ha! This has just reminded me. My Mum occasionally does the local boot fair and I very often give her stuff to flog down there for me. I had about 20 or so McD's toys which I thought she'd have trouble shifting. Amazingly, she sold them all in one day!

Perhaps it's because people collect the sets and if they've missed one, they like to try and get it. How sad! And just think how much junk food these kids are eating to collect all of them.......

Ah the ol Kids meal toy thing. The Maccy D's beany babies one was my fave, and I nearly got all of them too.

CB - dont' be suprised! I know a few people whose sole reason for going to boot fairs is to look for the kids meal toys they don't have to complete the collection. The beany ones are the main culprits, I've known some of them change hands for 10 quid! I kid you not! crazy eh?
