victim of the new age female road ragers!

happened twice this week! was shown fingers and shouted at on both occassions. luckily, i was chilled.... too tired after work anyway.
1st: travelling on M-way when came up to a long-ish easy bend with 50mph limit. car in front a golf was travelling at abt 80mph when the woman decided to brake mid bend. was following at a safe distance but rather than braking, i eased off throttle hence got close (abt a car's length) when out of the blue the woman stuck her fingers out of the windows. quite sure it wasnt a peace sign!
2nd: at traffic lights last night behind 2cars (a pug 206 and micra) stopped side by side. the woman were chatting, light turned green and still chatting. waited a few seconds and pressed horn once (short beep), got shown the peace sign again and the lady slowed down to shout obscenities (she had a couple of friends in the car). just turned the music volume up and ignored...
is it me or are female drivers getting more and more aggresive?

After queing for 10 minutes to do a right at a busy junction,A woman tried to cut in front of me on Saturday but I didn't let her through as a courtesy to other road users behind me.
She managed to squeeze through behind me (after cutting that vehicle up) then floored it behind me flashed her lights at me and gestured the "I got 2 jobs" sign and the to$$er sign, which made me laugh so much , that I got tears in my eyes.
Yup, their getting more aggresive me thinks !!

I had an instance once where i was travelling in outside lane of the dual carriage way, slightly more than 69mph but less than 86mph when about half a mile upfront a puma pulls out to overtake, nowt new there.
She gets level with the car she's overtaking and the brake lights come on so she's now doing about 50mph. I slow down, plenty of room not that fussed.
Thing is she's not actually overtaking, she's watching me in the rear view!!. I wait, and wait for about a mile when she finally finishes the manouvre. Most wierd i thought.
I over took and as I went past she was going mental, vees, the bird, to55er signs, foaming at the mouth everything
So i slowed down and dropped in behind her again in the slow lane, she reduced speed to about 20mph so i put hazards on and stayed behind her, I wanted to know why she'd just lost it.
I followed her for 12 miles around Ilkeston and surrounding areas,(Took about 40 mins) while she phoned about 10 people obviously crapping herself. Eventually we reach a dead end, she panics, locks the doors windows everything and starts shouting.
I gets out of the scoob and walks slowly up to the car, she's still going mad so i light a *** and make a call to the office to explain that i'm gonna be late.
She stops screaming, (Knackered) i move away from the drivers window and motion her to wind her window down. She does about half an inch. I say "What was that all about then" in a calm voice she shakily says "You were speeding" I say "Fair enough but hardly a reason to be that rude to me is it"
A mass of apologies followed through the half inch. I tell her to be slightly more considerate and be careful who she's bad mouthing in traffic, next time she might pick on a wrong un who smashes her car up or even worse.
She apologises again. I accept and get back into the scoob, job done. All except one, after i've turned around, i look in the mirror and she's doing a 98 point turn, she can't do it.
I ended up doing it for her
I wonder if she's ever been gobby from her car since?
Must have been PMT, no other reason for such hot/cold behaviour.

LOL, strange female you encountered there Mikey!!!!
I admit I get terrible road rage when I am driving. I seem to undergo a personality change and become a demon.
Some days, I am very laid back and nothing bothers me, other times, I get angry at anybody for just being on the road......and when it's the time of the month......well......

I must admit, I find my roadrage depends on the type of music im listening to.
if i have lets say Norah Jones playing im 90% asleep and calm as a stoned sloth.
on the other hand if i have creed, staind, metallica or something equally oppressive playing its a different story.

you couldnt meet a calmer person than my mum
untill she is behind the wheel of her fiesta!!!
she rants and raves and swears at everyone
uses the peace sign and flips the bird at
anyone who even looks at her....
only 2 weeks ago she came in red in the face
mumbling about women drivers cutting her up
"i told her what i thought of her" she ranted
this might be normal for ladies at that time
of the month....
but she pasted that along time ago
she is 71 for christ sake....
so look out if you are in the bristol area
and a silver fiesta diesel with a grey haired lady
driver creeps up behind you giving you the finger...
it might be my mum!!!!!!!
andy
she keeps asking to drive my03sti...god knows what
she would be like in that.......

The thing that bothers me the most are useless women drivers giving us competent (well I consider myself fairly competent - not perfect - mainly aggressive ) women drivers a bad name.
I used to cringe, but now I tend to show or noisely indicate to them my opinion of their "driving".

Two episodes just today;
i) Approaching a busy roundabout, just stopped as a bus was dropping people off (at one of those bus stops which juts out into the road, grrr, but that’s another story). Anyway moving away though the gears, just got into second as I pass a petrol station, immediately after the garage is a small road and a car pulls up turning left just as the car 10-15m ahead of me passes the road, she stops and i don't bother to let her out as I would have had to brake hard and the car behind me was too close. As I get level with her she blasts the horn and I get the w**nker sign...Cheers
ii) Driving down a small fast country road still on my way home, crazy woman in a vectra decides that she needs to give everything coming a very wide birth. A focus comes the other way doing 55-60mph, she drive onto the bank kicking up all kinds of rocks and dirt, not so much road rage but her violent braking and poor poisoning scared the $hit out of me.
It's a Jungle out there...keep safe.

May I just say... that ..... the reason is...
... women have had to put up with male drivers displaying their superiority time after time on the roads for years.... woman driving fast car seems to be a red rag to a bull in some areas with some men.... but hey... I can outrun you.. have done... got the T-shirt....
... Although I am not exempt from being angry behind the wheel... I find it a growing disease that there really are alot of people out there trying to prove something day in and day out... they tend to pick on the 'either better car to prove something to themselves' or the 'lesser car' to show their superiority... it's a lose lose situation..... give up and go home...

I've noticed quite a few women weaving in and out of the M40 like kid racers to gain a few yards in the commuter traffic recently.
Most of them are driving BMW's. Note to self, do not ever buy a BMW.

I think there is a general problem that more and more people (male and female) have become more aggressive on the road.
As for women, i have noticed the old faithful VW Golf drivers are the worst
