What's the crack!
I want a video camera, to film shooting trips. I have firewire or whatever's it's called on my PC, think I can link it up or something.
It has to be:
Small
Take still photo's and video
Connect & edit the video from my PC.
Robust (could get muddy)
Sub 1k
Also, I have a DvD burner, could I make a film, transfer it onto the PC, then make it into a VCD or something and burn it onto a DvD?
Where should I start looking, I have no idea about video camera's in the slightest!

I've a Sony PC100 which I think is now a PC 120 - it takes digital stills and those diddy DV tapes for video. Cost about 1100 from a bloke in Brum who advertised in the back of what video (or was it what pig I forget.
Fits in my palm and been all over the world without mis-hap in the last 3.5 years. Uses a love stick (or something like that) which uploads to my lap-top and was one of the few cameras that had DV in as well as out so all options covered for video editing.
Baz
Incidentally I build fork-lifts so Sony have had this add for nowt!

I can thoroughly recommend Colin Barret's forum (1st link suggested by Mark) for answering any questions. These guys have used all the latest cameras and helped me decide on my Panasonic NV-GX7. They even told me to find it cheap online and get myself down to Jessops who should price match.
If your a member of the forum you'll also get a nice big discount on DV tapes from Penridge Tele-Video as the owner is a regular contributor. I only paid £1.99 for Panasonic MDV60 tapes when Jessops/Dixons will try charging you at least twice that
